There is a peculiar question that can follow us into our hobbies: “What am I going to do with this?”
We finish a painting and wonder where it will hang. We take a photograph and wonder whether it would make a good post. We learn something beautiful and immediately ask whether it could become a service, a product, or a side business.
Sometimes it is wonderful when creativity turns into something we share. But it doesn't have to.
Permission to make something imperfect
One of the things I love about creative work is the chance to pay attention differently. You can experiment with color, change your mind, start over, or stop halfway through. A project can be interesting even if it never becomes impressive.
The same is true of trying a new practice, exploring a place you've never been, or learning because a subject fascinates you. Not everything needs a measurable outcome.
This is one reason I want Healing Energy Studio to show more than appointment descriptions. Creativity, nature, travel, energy work, and thoughtful self-reflection all belong in the life I am building. They remind me that there is a person behind the business.
A gentle experiment for this week
Choose something that has no business case. Doodle on a scrap of paper. Put on music and move around the kitchen. Visit a place because it is beautiful. Rearrange the colors in a painting until you like them.
Then see whether you can enjoy the process without justifying it.
If that feels unexpectedly difficult, notice the thought that appears. Is it “I should be doing something useful”? Is it “I'm not good enough at this”? You can acknowledge the thought and keep creating anyway.
You deserve activities that nourish your curiosity, not just your productivity.
There is no prize for turning every beautiful moment into work.
