What to Expect During an Emotion Code Session

If you’re curious about the Emotion Code but unsure what a session is actually like, you’re not alone. For many people, this type of energy work is new, and it’s natural to want a clear understanding of what to expect before booking a session.

My goal is always to create a safe, comfortable, and supportive space where healing can happen in whatever way is right for you.

Here’s a step-by-step look at how an Emotion Code session with me typically unfolds.

Beginning the Session

Emotion Code sessions can be done remotely through Zoom or in person.

For remote sessions, we meet together on camera through Zoom.
For in-person sessions, you’ll lie comfortably on my massage table and simply relax.

At the start of the session, we take a few minutes to connect. If we haven’t met before, this is a chance for me to get to know you a little bit. If you’re returning for another session, we’ll talk briefly about how you’ve been feeling since the last time we worked together.

I will ask what you would like to focus on during the session. Typically, we can address up to three issues in one session.

Grounding and Setting Intention

Before we begin the energy work, I guide you through a short breathing exercise to help you get grounded and connected to your body.

From there, I energetically connect with your subconscious mind. The subconscious is incredibly intelligent and plays a central role in Emotion Code work.

I also ask your higher self for permission before beginning.

If it aligns with your personal beliefs, you are welcome to invite guides, teachers, healers, loved ones on the other side, angels, or other spiritual support to assist in the process. This is completely optional.

Emotion Code sessions with me are non-dogmatic and respectful of all belief systems. You are always encouraged to participate in whatever way feels most comfortable for you.

My role is simply to hold a supportive space for healing without judgment or expectation.

Identifying Trapped Emotions

Once I’ve connected with your energy, I use muscle testing to confirm that I’m properly linked to your subconscious.

From there, we begin identifying emotions that are ready to be released.

The Emotion Code system identifies 60 core emotions that most emotional experiences fall into. Through muscle testing, your subconscious guides us to the specific emotion that is ready to be released.

Your subconscious protects you in two important ways:

  • It can trap emotions in the moment when we’re not ready to process them.

  • It also releases them only when we are ready to let them go.

If we habitually suppress emotions, they can become trapped in the body, where they may affect us mentally, emotionally, and eventually even physically.

The goal of Emotion Code work is to release these trapped emotions without needing to relive painful or traumatic experiences.

Decoding Additional Information

Sometimes your subconscious will indicate that more information should be uncovered about the trapped emotion.

This can include things like:

  • The age when the emotion was trapped

  • Where in the body the emotion is stored

  • Which organ may be involved in producing or holding the emotion

Knowing the age can sometimes help us reconnect with a younger version of ourselves that may have felt hurt, overwhelmed, or unsupported at the time.

Understanding where the emotion is stored can also help highlight possible connections between emotional energy and physical symptoms. In some cases, this may guide someone toward seeking additional support from a physician or other healthcare provider.

Different Types of Trapped Emotions

Not all trapped emotions originate from our own experiences.

Some emotions may be:

Inherited
Passed through family lines through DNA or epigenetics. When these are released, the release can occur for the individual and sometimes for descendants as well.

Absorbed from Others
Highly empathetic people may absorb emotional energy from people around them.

Shared Emotions
These occur when two or more people experience the same event and trap the emotion at the same time.

Occasionally, the subconscious may also reveal a related life event, although this happens less frequently in my experience.

How the Emotion is Released

I typically use the sway test (also called the body pendulum) for muscle testing, though I may use other techniques depending on what feels appropriate in the moment.

These techniques are completely non-invasive, and you can remain relaxed throughout the entire process.

Once a trapped emotion is identified, it is released using energy work, Reiki, or a magnet by passing it along the Governing Meridian.

The Governing Meridian is one of the main energy pathways described in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It runs along the spine and over the top of the head and is associated with the body's energetic communication system.

By clearing energy through this pathway, the trapped emotional energy can be released from the body.

This process continues until your subconscious indicates that all emotions ready to be released during the session have been cleared, or until the session time ends.

Most sessions release at least five emotions, though sometimes a dozen or more may release.

Your subconscious will never release more than your system is ready to process.

What Happens After the Session

After a session, your body and mind will continue integrating the changes.

Most people go through a processing period of about 1–3 days.

Often this happens quietly in the background without you even noticing it.

Many people report feeling:

  • Lighter

  • Calmer

  • More peaceful

  • Happier

  • More motivated or energized

Some people with physical symptoms notice improvements in areas that had been bothering them.

Occasionally, people may experience temporary processing symptoms such as:

  • Feeling sleepy or tired

  • Emotional sensitivity

  • Mild irritability

  • Brief “echoes” of the emotions that were released

These experiences are usually temporary as the body completes the integration process.

During this time, it’s best not to schedule another Emotion Code session. Allow your body the time it needs to fully process what was released.

If any symptoms feel persistent or concerning, it may be appropriate to follow up with a physician, mental health professional, or schedule additional sessions if more emotions are ready to surface.

A Gentle Process of Letting Go

Emotion Code sessions are designed to help release emotional energy without needing to relive painful memories.

Every session is unique, and the process always unfolds according to what your subconscious feels ready to release.

My intention is always to support you in creating more space for balance, healing, and emotional freedom.

Ready to Experience an Emotion Code Session?

If you’ve been feeling stuck emotionally, overwhelmed, or simply curious about how trapped emotions may be affecting your well-being, an Emotion Code session may be a gentle and supportive place to start.

Whether we meet in person or remotely, the goal is always the same: to help your body release emotional energy it no longer needs to carry so you can move forward with greater balance, clarity, and ease.

If you’ve been thinking about trying a session, this is a great time to begin.
