Reiki for Grief or Emotional Healing
My approach to Reiki during times of grief is shaped by personal experience. I have lived through the loss of a child, the unexpected loss of my father, and the loss of a sibling. Those experiences changed the way I understand grief. They taught me that grief isn’t something that can be rushed, explained away, or fixed with the right words.
I also understand that grief can be complicated by family dynamics, including estrangement and alienation. These experiences can add layers of emotional complexity that many people carry silently.
Why I Became a Reiki Practitioner
As I continued receiving Reiki sessions, something interesting began to happen. I started noticing that I was carrying less emotional weight. The heaviness that I had been living with began to feel lighter. Over time, Reiki became every bit as helpful to me as talk therapy had been — but without having to revisit and relive painful experiences over and over again.
Instead, I began setting intentions during sessions to release certain emotions or experiences and allow them to move through me.
Then life changed in a way that no one can ever fully prepare for.
